Does your horse have to much TB?
How do I know if the AQHA or APHA Heritage has too much TB?

The AAHIA registration rules state the no more the 25% TB is allowed in the AQHA or APHA heritage. This is #1 reason for elimination of registration. We would like to take this opportunity to explain how you can look over the perspective heritage and know for certain the subsequent off spring is eligible for registration, and the AQHA or APHA parent is eligible as an American Azteca foundation breeding stock.

Horse with AQHA Appendix papers maybe eligible. However an 8 generation pedigree is required to determine the TB blood percentage.

When viewing you AQHA or APHA pedigree you must have 4 generations. A generation Does not includes the horse's named on the registration papers.  The certificate you receive from them only shows a 3 generation pedigree. You will need to contact the AQHA or APHA for an extended pedigree.

Follow the example below. If you have any questions, please contact the AAHIA office. They will be glad to look it over.

43.75%

The total TB of this AQHA Horse is 43.75 %

Place the percent of TB next to each horse in there perspective column. At the bottom of each column add up the TB blood. The Generation with the highest percentage would be the total TB going back to Generation #4.
